The Office of Family and Youth Advocacy will be hosting “Black Minds Matter” discussion at Morse High School located at 6905 Skyline Drive, San Diego, CA 92114 on February 15, 2018 beginning at 4:00PM.  Black Minds Matter addresses the experiences and realities of black boys and men in education.  The course, led by professor Dr. Luke Wood of San Diego State University, draws parallels between the Black Lives Matter movement and the ways the black minds are engaged in the classroom.  The course will balance a discussion of issues facing black male students as well as offer research-based strategies for improving their success.
